Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
When does the sentence end?
I served my full 5 year sentence. Theoretically I paid my debt to society, yet I can not get even a menial job at a major company. I am college educated and have over 30 years experience as a manager/lead and over 20 years as a programmer (the career I went to school for). I have worked with many well-known corporate executives, including our current Vice President. I had no criminal record prior criminal record, and things onlt went south after mt 18 year old son was murdered in my home in his bed and then my wife deserted us 3 months later.
How much punishment and pain must one person be subjected to for trying to het even with drug-dealer that sold the drugs the firl was on when she shot his son in his sleep.
(Gun less than 18'' and entry just barely right of tight nostril?

Re: When does the sentence end?
I am so sorry. Your role in this must have been minor if there was a death, and yet you served only five years. The truth is that an exfelon has extremely limited resources of recovery in our society. If you were given references, through the parole system, to companies that hire, even if outside your field or outside your expertise, take it. If not, call them. Companies exist that agree to hire exfelons. If a grocery store will let you bag groceries, then do it. It rebuilds your credibility. It creates a network to rise above. To show future employers that you are trustworthy. Obviously, self-employment is another alternative. Get referrals from family and friends and church that are still willing to work with you. If offered assistance, accept it gratefully and generously. It may not seem like much, but may become something more down the road. Take care. TCL
