Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Sex Offender
One of my friends moved to US from some other country. He's 19 years old. 3 years ago (when he was 16), he sexually assaulted a 9 year old boy and a 7 year old boy. There was no penetration or anal sex involved. He's vowed never to do anything like this ever again and he is not a pedophile i.e he is not attracted to pre-pubescent kids. He's now very guilty and wants to confess. Should he confess or just let it go? if he confesses, what will be the consequences?

Re: Sex Offender
He should keep his mouth shut.
He is looking at possible time behind bars and possible sex offender registration.
Confessing will not help him.
