Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Sexual Assault
My husband's cousin, who is now 24, is now saying that he raped her 8 years ago when she was 16, he would have been 27. The detective who took the report called her several days later and asked her to mail her a more detailed report. Is it standard procedure to allow someone not to write the statement right then and allow them more than three weeks to write one. This would have given her plenty of time to make up a great story. This just doesn't seem right.
