Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Shock Probation

My fiance is in Travis County Jail for a felony of aggrevated assault with a deadly weapon. He took a plea bargain of ''shock probation'' instead of going to trial & getting 15 years. The judge sentenced him to 180 days. My question is- Can we ask for a sooner court date instead of the May 14th one we got? His son is due in March, and we were hoping to get him out before then. The jail he is in is very over-crowded. He's already been moved to a different floor. Sorry this is so long, but what are our chances?? The lawyer that was hired for him completely doesn't care & I'm ''shopping'' for a new one. Thank you so much for your time!!

Re: Shock Probation

Your question isn't that clear because there are procedural issues at play on how long he must spend in county or TDC before he can be released on probation. You need to retain competent counsel.
