Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If i signed an affidavit stating that i dont want to press charges against someone, will i still have to go to court on the case?

Maybe, maybe not. Different prosecutors in different counties have different policies. It will also depend upon the nature and severity of the case.
The DA represents the State of Texas, not the individual, and can subpoena all witnesses to testify as to their personal knowledge.
