Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
signing birth cert, with permission
a friend of mine, was asked to sign a birth cert. for her brother, now they are fighting and said they are going to have her arrested for doing so, the father and mother were not married, but he gave her permission to sign his name cause he was at work and wanted the baby to have his last name, what is her my friends right, all this because she and the brother is fighting over money in which my friend helped them out more then once, thanks

Your friend can relax. The authorized siging of another's signature, assuming proof of the authorization, is not forgery.
Even without proof it is highly unlikely that any DA will consider this matter serious enough to prosecute.
The lesson: Don't sign for others, period.
