Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My sister was arrested for the following charges: POSS CS PG 1 >=1G<4G(F3), POSS CS PG 4 <28G(B), can you explain these charges to me??? Also she was arrested with her boyfriend who is now her co defendant can you tell me if codefendants are allowed to communicate or live together??? I believe that they are not and for obvious reasons she should not be talking to her co defendant but my real concern is that I am the signer on her bond, and I do not want to violate the law or the terms of the bond.... please help!!

Keith Engelke Law Office of S. Keith Engelke

She is charged with 2 offenses, the first is possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 weighing between one gram and four grams. This is third degree felony with a range of punishment of two to ten years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

The second offense is possession of controlled substance in penalty group weighing less than 28 grams. I believe this second offense is a class B misdemeanor which is punishable by a fine up to $2000 and up to 180 days in jail.

These are serious charges and your sister needs a criminal defense lawyer to represent her. It is not a good idea for her to discuss her case especially the facts of her case with anyone else other than her lawyer. Otherwise she just creates someone who can testify against her at trial.

I doubt that adhering to this is a condition of her bond.or against the law. Nor do I think living with a co-defendant is a violation of the law or her bond. However it is not a good idea since it creates an opportunity for her co-defendant to make something up about her. Besides, it is hard to live with someone without communicating.
