Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
my sister and my nephew were called by local police to inquire on a crime that happened near their place of residence. they did not see anything but still questioned by locad pd. now there is a court date coming up and they are trying to seve a subpoena to her, if she fails to recieve said document in hand what happens. remember they did not witness any of the crime in question but now they want them to appear in court. if they were not witness to anything then why would they try to serve them

If they are served, they have to appear, and testify truthfully. If they are not served, they are not obligated to appear.
