Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Hello! I sold my washer and dryer to a lady who was cleaning my apartment prior to me vacating. The verbal agreement was that she will send me the money a week later because she did not have it right now. She took the washer and dryer and still has not paid me, and it has been over a month. I bought the washer and dryer on my credit card at a store, brand new, so I believe it would be possible to have the store search their transaction history with the serial numbers to show I am the one who bought them, to prove the washer and dryer belong to me. With that being said, would I be able to handle this legally to have my washer and dryer taken back from her? I would have a third party handle this for me because I am no longer in Texas. Please let me know. Thank you!

This is not a criminal law question. You can sue her in small claims court. You are not going to be able to get the washer / dryer back unless she returns them to you.
