Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My son was arrested in Foley, AL for domestic violence (criminal mischief 3rd) while we were vacationing. He was released on a $500 bond. He was to appear in court on Aug 20th but we did not have the funds for a hotel so we came back to Dallas, Tx. We received a Failure To Appear Notice today stating that must appear in court on Tuesday, Sept 3. If not, an ARREST WARRANT will be issued. His drivers license will be suspended and driving with a suspended license is punishable by fine and/or jail time. Would his Texas license be suspended? We don't have the money to get to Alabama by Sept 3rd. What do we do now?
We're from Dallas, Tx but the offense was in Foley, Al.
