Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My son was arrested for getting into a loud argument with his girlfriend. I'm not saying he is not guilty but he is bypolar and couldn't afford his medication because he was out of work. The county he lived in is very bad about sticking you in jail and leaving you there. This all took place on thursday sept.2 .I didn't have the money for his $5000.00 bail. A attourney gave me a phone # for a lady named Amanda who has a auto bond co. I called her and she was so nice and she informed me that she would get him out of jail without any money all he had to do is sign and turn over the car as colateral and when he got out he could get his car back. He did and said he would be out after 24 hours. We waited several days and kept trying to call her but she would not take our calls. After eight day I gave up and borrowed money posted bail with another bonding co. My son was released in a few hours. He called Amanda from his cell phone and when she finally answered she informed him that she didn't sell his car, she sold her car along with all his tools for work plus some pawn tickets that was in the car for tools he pawned to feed his family. Now she says she is going to file haressment charges on him if he calls her again. Is there anything we can do to bring charges on her? He can't go back to work withour a car and tools. Please help us.
