Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My Son just received 2- 10yr. Sentices stacked. Typically how much time will he serve before he is elegiable for parole. In Texas Dept. Of Corrections. His court appt. Attorney said he has 30 days to appeal. If so does he have the same attorney, same judge.

It is up to the lawyer and defendant on whether the trial lawyer stays on the case. Generally it is better to have fresh eyes on the case for appeal.
There is no "typical" amount of time to spend in prison, and it really does depend on the type of case. If it is alcohol related (which is probable given that you say the sentences were stacked), I will tell you that parole comes much slower. If he has a deadly weapon finding, he must serve 1/2 of the sentence flat before becoming eligible for parole.
