Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My son is in safp and has completed his 6 months required. They are not releasing him because they say there are no beds at the halfway house They are also telling him the extra time he has to spend does not count towards time he will have to spent at the halfway house. Is there anything he can do?

Nope. They will not release him until they have the 1/2 house. And he is lucky they are already trying to place him. Many people do not get released from SAFP after only 6 months.
He (and you) need to focus on helping him be successful, not get out ASAP. If he went to SAFP, it was because he was really messing up.
