Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My son is 19 and slept with a 16 year old girl recently in texas. He had never met her before and he rashly got involved with her. As it turns out she was a runaway and the cops came and informed him what a situation he was in. Charges were apparently dropped (I talked to the detective and he informed me) and it has been nearly seven months however I worry that he is still in danger. What can I do?

What can you do about what? He could be charged for sexual assault if he is even 1 day more than 3 years older that her. The statute of limitations does not quit running until 10 years (I think - it might be 20) after she turns 18.
If she is a runaway and a problem child, and the prosecution has already dropped sexual assault charges against your son regarding her, chances are they will not refile them.
