Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My son stole a motorcycle a few years ago and he had to pay around $3000.00
in restitution and when he went to court he pled deferred judification and his
lawyer told him that it wouldn't show up on his criminal record but it is still
on there. How do we get this removed? Who do we need to contact? Thanks

His lawyer was wrong. The deferred does not show up as a conviction but it is still on the record. Your son might be eligible for what is called a petition for non-disclosure. That would basically "seal" the record so most private entities (like employers and apt complexes) would not be able to see it.
