sons girlfriend on probation for hot checks, asault
sons girlfriend is on probation for assault, leaving the state, hot checks. She was recently picked up for shop lifting and they let her out again. She has also busted many drug tests and nothing is ever done. Why is this happening.

If you are asking why isn't she in jail, the answer is 'who knows?', probably because the charges you listed sound like misdemeanors. Maybe someone keeps bailing her out...
If you are asking why she behaves this way, the answer should be 'who cares?'
As a lawyer and a mother, it seems that the only relevant question you should be asking is why is my son attracted to this loser? And that question should be addressed in therapy. Use whatever leverage you have to get your son into therapy -- that should be your only concern at this stage. Good luck.
