stale warrant
what is a stale warrant? does my warrant get thrown out after a certain amount of time, like for example 5 years?

There is caselaw that says that a warrant has to be quashed if the person was readily found, but law enforcement exerted no effort to execute the warrant. In my experience the time frame can be anywhere from 6 months onward. It is important to note that it does not include time that you were located out of state of the warrant.
