Is there a statue of limations regarding traffic tickes in the state of Texas?

Once you have been issued a traffic ticket, then you have been charged. The statute of limitations is tolled once you have been charged with an offense. However, the cop must be around to testify if the state or city or county wish to continue to prosecute an old traffic ticket.
