Statute of Limitations on Sexual Assault of a Child in Texas
Generally the Statute of Limitations for Sexual Assault of a Child, in Texas, is ten (10) years from the 18th birthday of the victim of the offense. However, there is no limitations period for a sexual assault, if during the investigation of the offense biological matter is collected and subjected to forensic DNA testing and the testing results show that the matter does not match the victim or any other person whose identity is readily ascertained. So it depends on the facts, but most likely when the victim turns 28 years old.
