Is there a statue of limitations on unauthorized use of a vehicle?

Yes. There is a 5 year statute of limitation for theft or robbery. I have not read any case law on this matter, but my gut tells me that the 5 years limitations period will apply to an unauthorized use charge because the charge is under Chapter 31 of the Texas Penal Code which is entitled "Theft".
You should always get a lawyer on criminal charge this significant.
