Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Statute of Limitation-Expungement
When does the statute of limitation comes into play. Is it the date of offense? or The day offence was reported to police? or Is it the day when they summoned someone for their first court appearance? Or After the case is closed/dismissed? Or something else? I am planning on getting my record expunged, but I am confused about the statute of Limitaion for a Misdemeanor. I know it is two years, but when does it start?

Re: Statute of Limitation-Expungement
First be sure that you qualify for an expunction. The statute begins to run on the date of the offense, but is tolled while pending litigation.
