What is the statute of limitations on a bogus check in texas?

It depends on the amount of the check. If it's less than $1500, then it's a misdemeanor and the State has two years from the date of the incident (when the check was presented to the bank) to file charges. If it's $1500 or above, then this is a felony and the State would have three years from the date of the incident. This doesn't mean that the trial has to take place by this date or that warrant has to be served on this person by that date, only that a warrant or charge has to be filed within the limitations period.
