Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Statutory rape
My friend 23 yr old friend was forced to get married to his 16 yr old girlfriend who became pregnant. Her parents threatened to press charges if he did not marry her. The parents knew about their relationship. Had he decided not to marry her, how much trouble would he have been in if they had pressed charges? Would she be allowed to testify on his behalf and say that she consented to having sex with him?

Re: Statutory rape
He should do as he is told. Plain and simple. It is a crime unless they are three years of age or less apart. It does not matter that she consented. I have had to many young college age men fall into that trap. They are all now convicted sex offenders and it hurts.
