Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My step brother is 21 and he lived in olney, tx. Him and his girlfriend were living together for about a year and things started to go downhill. He was on probation for possession of marijuana but he had to leave olney to live in fort worth because him and his girlfriend split and he didn't have anywhere to stay in olney. So he called his mom, which lives in fort worth, to come pick him up. He didn't have time to tell his P.O because the move all happened in a days time. Now 6 months have passed. Is there anything he can do without doing time?

The reality is that he could have contacted his probation officer as he moved, immediately after his move, etc..... He chose not to do so. What he can do now is hire a lawyer and turn himself in before he gets arrested at an inopportune time. It is generally best if he turns himself in.

If it is a misdemeanor small amount - he probably facing a maximum of 6 months in jail and a license suspension of 6 months.
