Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If a step parent goes with adult friends to the beach, and gets drunk while caring for my teenage kids, is there legal repercussion if something happens to the kids while the parent is intoxicated, even while the other adults are not intoxicated?

I guess it depends on what the something is. As the adult in charge of the kids he has a duty to make sure they get medical treatment if they are injured but since they are teenagers I cannot imagine how else he might face some criminal liability.
