Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I was stopped with 2 of my husband's hydrocodone in my possesion and am being charged with possesion of a dangerous drug. He has a prescription for these. Is there a way I can handle this without a lawyer?

You really DON'T want to deal with the prosecutor unless you have a lawyer.
However, if you're determined to do so:
1. Show up at all hearings.
2. Don't talk to the prosecutor, ever. Don't argue with him, don't talk to him on the phone, don't volunteer information.
3. When you go to court, demand a jury trial.
4. On trial day, bring your husband, and bring written confirmation of the prescription. You may have to subpoena your husband's doctor; ask the Judge how to issue a subpoena. You'll need the doctor's name and address (office address is okay).
