Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Texas criminal record used in a different state?
I have a really good friend that was charged with a DUI in the state of Missouri. he has a prior conviction for DUI in the state of texas. My question is can Missouri look at his prior record in texas to show that he is a repeat offender and give stiffer penalties or sentencing?
Thank you,

I am not sure what the State of Missouri will do in your friend's case - you will have to contact a DWI lawyer in that State. However, most states, including Texas have such laws, whereby a conviction in another state for DWI or DUI can be used to enhance(increase) the punishment in this State for a subsequent DWI charge.
