Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
In Texas, has a law been passed recently, and/or is it true that it is illegal for the police to search your vehicle after you are placed in the police car in the process of being arrested? That you must be within a certain distance of your vehicle, not in the police car, when it is being searched?

I am unaware of such legislation. However, I have heard of recent Supreme court decisions regarding the lawfulness of certain police searches after an arrest. These are complicated and you would need to hire a criminal defense attorney to assist you.
