Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Theft
i bailed out my son from jail yesterday.He is charged with theft,i believe it was class C...he is 20 years old,stole 3 i pods while he worked at walmart.I talked with a policeman yesterday and he said...when my son was 16 he stole some things from school and got arrested ,was one night in juvenile ..so,the policeman said this will be hold against him now too because it was never siled..he also told us my son would probably will get one year jailtime for this.
Can you please give me any advise?

Re: Theft
First, it is unlikely that 3 ipods are a Class C misdemeanor.
Secondly, the police officer (if he is a police officer) is giving you bad information.
Get a lawyer for your son. A lawyer will be able to negotiate the case in a way that is least harmful.
