theft
someone I know has been charged with theft. I feel it must be something like ''hot'' checks...what kind of trouble is he looking at??

The depth of the "trouble" he is looking at really depends upon what criminal charge(s) might be. Additionally, the dollar values of the "hot checks" will also effect everything.
