Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
theft
I was fired by my employer for using invalid coupons for products. The register took the coupons, there was no manually putting them in. Also I would make purchases with a credit card and then get a refund and put the cash in my personal account. I agree that what was being done was unethical, but can they come after me for shoplifting or theft as they are doing?

If the refund belong to some one other than you, then that some one could file theft charges. The employer could file charges, but I don't know if they would stick, unless they get the customer to say that the refund was theirs.
