Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
theft from a person
My son is 19 and him and his ex-girlfriend had an argument over the phone and he went to the store and she met him there they talked and then they argued about them seeing other people sence she had been spending time at our house and with my son he got angry and took her phone to read the text mesg. that the other boy had sent her and told her to go by after work to pick it up. he left and came home she got mad and called the police and they aressted him on theft from a person. what can we do?

Get him a lawyer immediately. Under the circumstances it might be possible to get the case diverted, in exchange for some community service, anger management classes or injunction to stay away from her.
