Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Theft of property

I own/owned a 4 wheeler that my buddy was paying payments for. Now the only reason he had it is because I had no place to store it cause I had no garage to store it. He came up to me and told me he wanted to pay payments on the 4 wheeler and down the road attempt to buy it cause i was looking to get rid of it. He had the 4 wheeler for about 9 months and paying me payments of 175.00 a month. So it was stolen from his sisters house and her insurance isn't going to cover it and he quit paying me payments for the 4 wheeler and I have a sworn statement signed by me and him saying he soley takes full responsibility for what has happened and that he will take care of the remaining balance of the loan. So now he isn't paying me anything and wont return my phone calls or anything.. I'm trying to figure out how good my chances are if I sue him and take him to court? Cause the remaining balance is about 10,000 dollars.. Please help me..

Re: Theft of property

If you have a contract with this friend, you should sue him on that contract in civil court. This isn't really a criminal law issue.
