Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Theft under $50
I received a ticket for theft under $50. Do I need a lawyer to handle this? I would like it taken off my record entirely if possible.

Best option is to beat the case. If you end up taking a deferred on it, you have a shot at getting it expunged. A class C deferred is the only deferred that can be expunged in Texas.
