Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
trial for pom(1joint)
courts is trying to give me 1year or 6months probation on a misdemeanor case(ticket) why is it not a fine, why are they trying to give me jail or probation for my past, this is a fine. i have never been convicted of marijuana

Only Class C misdemeanors are fine only offenses. Possessionof Marijuana is a class B misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 180 days in jail and a $2000 fine. What the DA offers in a plea bargain is discretionary. If you hire an attorney to negotiate with the DA you may be able to get a better deal.
