Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Victims of sick landlord
We found a camera in the attic pointed directly in our bedroom. Landlord's prints were found in the harddrive of the receiver but there's still no warrant for his arrest. What else does the DA need to prosecute him? and if prosecuted how long will he be in jail?

Re: Victims of sick landlord
There are two routes that you can choose:
Criminal charges which the DA handles but you also have the option of going forward with a civil action against the landlord for invasion of privacy and quite possibly many others as well. These do not have to be initiated at the same time and many times individual proceed at the same time. With regards to the DA, they sometimes do not move forward unless it is rock solid. Depending on the charge, will depend on the jail time if any and he could work out a deal to avoid time. Is this a small peroperty that he is leasing? Do he lease several properties?
