Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I have warrant for assault by contact and I need to know if it is a class c misdemeanor? I never plead on it but when I called the court house they told me that if I go to open court and plea guilty they could set me up payments, or I could pay the amount in full which is $475.80. If I pay it in full will that mean I wont be guilty? I need to know these answers or my State Job will dismiss me. So basically what I need to know is the class of the charge and the plea if i pay it in full?

Assualt by contact (where there is no bodily injury) is a class C misdemeanor. If you simply plead guilty, you will have a conviction on your record. Paying in full will not make you less guilty. However if you can get deferred adjudication and successfuly complete the terms of the probation there will not be a conviction on your record. However, your employer will know that you were charged and received deferred adjudication.
