Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Warrant to search house

My mother had 3 police officers come to her door and tell her that they were looking for a missing child and asked to do a quick search of her home. She did give consent, but under false pretenses I believe. They did search her home and found drugs. She was arrested and charges with a first degree felony. Don't they have to have a warrant in order to search her house? Is this not considered to be illegal search and seizure?

Re: Warrant to search house

Based on what you have written, it may be an illegal search. This would ultimately depend upon what was actually said by the police and the person answering the door. You really need to seek the assistance of a criminal defense law firm to protect your mother's rights and interests in this criminal cause. If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
