Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

When apartments do background checks do warrants from other states show up? Even if the warrant is just in that state? And how do you find out if the warrant in Nation wide or just surrounding states?

Re: warrants

Apartments do background checks through privately-owned services, and what they learn will depend upon the individual service. You can do a background check on yourself through a service, but there is no way to predict how thorough it will be, or if it will be the same information obtained by another private person.

In this computer age, almost all law enforcement agencies have access to the same information. The issue is not whether the warrant will appear locallly, it probably will. The issue is, while you are sitting in jail, is the offender state willing to come pick you up on the warrant.

Retaining an attorney, can provide you with much of the information you request, as well as resolve the outstanding charges against you.
