Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Will my Class C Misdemeanor Assault charge keep me from teaching?
I received a Class C Misdemeanor charge of simple family assault after a domestic dispute with my ex. I am in an alternative teaching certification program but are required to have an FBI background check done...Should I give up now before I waste anymore money? Is there anything I can do to get this off my record?

You have a charge? or a conviction? It makes a difference. Sealing your record is pointless for the background check as they can still access it. An attorney might successfully get this dismissed and then expunged.
