Will they drop the charges of an aggravted assault if i filled a false statement?

Hello there,
You need to contact an attorney and inform he/she how you lied to the police.
An aggravated assault is a very serious crime that holds a punishment range anywhere from 2-20 years.
I would hate to think that someone would be incarcerated due to someone's lie.
You need to clear this up.
