Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Will he have to serve time?
Hello,
My 20 yr old son was arrested for the first time a few days ago. He was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a ''dime bag'' of marijuana (I think that is about a third of an ounce). He has been released on his own reconnaissance. He is to appear in court tomorrow. I don't know what to do. He was told that he would probably get probation. Is their a chance that he will have to serve time? Does he need an attorney? If he does, does the attorney need to be their tomorrow.

There are several lawyers in Houston and you need one of them now. Wayne Bettis 644-1000 has an office on the Gulf Freeway just outside the loop and he has handled many cases of this nature.
