Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Worried

I am currently in the 3rd year of a 5 year felony probation sentence for dwi. I can't find a job here but have been offered one in Oklahoma. My question is what if I go to Oklahoma before my transfer is approved and violate my probation. Will there be a warrant issued just in Texas or will they come to OK looking for me? I have not previously violated any of the terms of my probation. Simply put, I have nowhere to live in Texas, no job, no money, no family, etc...I have a place to live in OK, a job, and family but my probation officer is being very difficult. Please advise.

Re: Worried

You should be ... worried. Moving without getting permission will violate a condition of your probation and a felony warrant will issue for your arrest. It will be placed in NCIC and if stopped by any officer any where, you'll be arrested and brought back to Texas. Next, you'll find yourself before the same judge that you entered your plea with and you'll be assessed 5 years prison. Then you will have a home ... at least for 5 years! Moral to this story: Don't move without permission..!!
