Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If you write a bad check to purchase a car over 1000.00 do the company have to send you a certified letter before they can turn it in to DA office.

Yes. If you do not pick it up and make the check good, then charges will be accepted by the prosecutor's office. (However, it is possible that with some creative charging, they could file theft of the automobile without regard to the check - which would not require a certified letter.)
If you wrote a hot check for a car, I suggest you contact the car company immediately and make the check good.
