Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I wrote a INSF. check back in 2000 in Norcross, Ga. for my car tags to be switched over. Well I ended up getting arrested for this, paying restitution, and being put on probation for 2yrs. 8yrs. later and the case is still haunting me. I called the Gwinnett Co. probationers office and was told of the fire there and that the files get purged and files get destroyed over time. The officer found my case after about a week, and told me that the original probation officer had left that job and then I was told that after I completed everything required of me the case would be dropped down to a misdemeanor and so on. This never happened and has hindered me very much. First they had me listed as a forger, and so I and the probation office dug for 2wks. and found the orginial paperwork and now all I want is to be done with this and acquire decent employment. I would like very much to know what and how I can get this situation resolved.
