Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Last year my friend got arrested for possession of marijuana. He was in my car. I was in the passenger seat. We were both shocked it was there, had no clue, and it was not mine. He said "I'll take the blame, its not mine but you are not arresting her" and the police report says that he admitted to it being his. He wants me to testify for him about what happened that night especially because the police report states things that arent true. Is there any way that testifying, especially if he gets off, will cause police to charge me with the possession? Especially if I say that it was in my car and under my seat?

The police will already know that the marijuana was found under your seat and that you owned the vehicle (if it was in your name.) Your testimony will do nothing to change this. The only way that they might turn around and charge you is if you admitted the marijuana was yours. However, because you are concerned and because there is the possibility of being charged, you should consult with a local lawyer about the facts of the case and your potential exposure upon testifying.
