Re: to date or not to date?

Your best bet is to develop a good relationship with the father, so he trusts you. That's really what is happening here. He has to trust that the two of you aren't doing anything that he doesn't approve of.

At 15, I would hope you're NOT having sex, because there are FAR too many other things to do at that age. Not only that, but the older person is likely to be in danger of prosecution for rape...not a great way to start your future life as an adult.

Maybe, to protect yourself AND her, you keep the relationship to after-school study groups, football games or other group activities, which are out in the open. Group takes the pressure off the word "date" anyway.

Once you get older [e.g. both over 18], there is so much LESS fun in the world, so that's a great time to have sex! Not to mention that you'll be able to handle whatever consequences (good or bad) may come of it. So, enjoy the freedom NOT to do it, while you're young!

:o))

Get Dad to trust you, maybe by getting HER parents to know YOUR parents and see that values are truly shared. Certainly, your parents would be equally concerned as hers, so sharing just that much isn't a bad idea.
