Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Texas

gender discrimination

i have been at my current job for a year and a half and previously worked for this restaruant in the past. i was let go in the past by a female manager. the owner is a woman but is also very standoffish with the male staff. especially since her husband left her a couple of years ago. we currently have 5 female managers and one male. this place has always been very unfair to the male staff. i have the most senoirity of the front staff and yet i have never been promoted or offered a promotion. i was recently yelled at by the owner and then was threatened to be fired due to another incident in which i did not have permission to do what i did, but took the initiative in thinking i was helping and not doing any thing wrong. there have been other instances where other males and myself have been discriminated against. coments about men being dogs, animals and the like have been made. should i pursue some sort of legal action as this is affecting my health as well as my other job.

Re: gender discrimination

Report your claim to the EEOC..or Texas Human Rights office in your area..they can negotiate and settle or give you a right to sue letter...about 30 years ago we handled a male discrimination case..without success..but the climate has changed
