Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Texas
How do I protect my self against a racial discrimination grievance
A co-worker has filed a grievance against me siting racial disctimination as the issue, which I feel is unfounded. He has also stated that he is currently under psychiatric care due to job related stress.
I am concerned for my personal safety as this co-worker has exhibited violent tendancies in my presence, and from what I have been told, behind my back.
Our supervisor seems more concerned over the racial discrimination accusations than my concerns for my safety.
How do I defend myself against the grievance and still protect myself from possible physical harm?

Re: How do I protect my self against a racial discrimination grievance
You may want to speak with your supervisor's superior and file a written statement/grievance with your company so your concerns are documented. You should include the dates you made your concerns known to your supervisor and his superior, the reasons for your concerns, and why you feel this other employee's complaint is unfounded. If you feel that your job security is threatened by what is happening, you may want to consult with an attorney in your area so that you can do everything in your power to protect your rights and your job. If you don't know of a good attorney in your area, contact your county or state bar association and ask for a referral to an attorney who handles these types of cases. Most attorneys offer free consultations so you can at least speak with an attorney and find out how to protect yourself. I wish you the best of luck.
