criminal cases
If a cop involved in a criminal case resigns due to disgracing himself and that is public knowledge how does this effect the cases he was involved in that have not yet gone to trail.

I don't know about Texas, but in NY if the officer resigns or has problems in character,then his testimony is tainted,if he/she testifies at all. This is very good for the defendant.
